While it can be easy to make assumptions about other’s, this is another great reminder of the important teaching found in Matthew 7:1 & 2, “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.” (ESV)
People’s judgements about June and her mother were misguided and we can only guess where it would have been placed if the truth about her was known. In this case, June’s mother was selflessly willing to carry the burden of criticism to protect her daughter – something that wouldn’t be necessary if we all lived the scripture above. Let this be a great reminder to us all about selfless love and our quick rush to judgement.
