84-year-old, Lena Given was away at a Houston Rockets playoff game when the deadly storms and flash flooding started across Texas and Oklahoma. Her poodle her, Tinkerbell, was locked in a kennel inside her home which was located in the flood zone. Unable to get home because of the floodwaters, she feared the worst for her beloved Tinkerbell.
Given’s grandson, Brian Gardner, knew that Tinkerbell was still in the home and borrowed a friend’s boat to see if he could rescue her. By some miracle, Tinkerbell had gotten out of her cage and was floating on a chair in the living room and Brian was able to rescue her and bring the poodle to safety.
12 hour after the floods began, Givens finally heard the good news that her dog was safe. Watch this video to see their story and her reunion with Tinkerbell.
